Turn spoken reading notes into organized text
After reading a passage, use Voicen to say what you read, how you understand it, and what you want to do next. Transcription saves those spoken thoughts as text. If you configure an LLM, it can organize the transcript into a reading note. Keep the original audio and transcript so you can check the result.
This guide is written in English for people recording Chinese speech. Chinese recording and transcription are the current release’s focus; English speech quality is not a release promise.
Say three things before editing
Start with the book or chapter. Separate the author’s ideas from your own interpretation. Finish with something you want to try or a question you want to investigate. You do not need to speak in finished prose.
For a direct quotation, say where the quotation begins and ends, then verify it against the book afterward. Add a page number only when you know it.
An example of the structure
The following text is an English translation of an illustrative example written by hand. It is not a recording, an actual transcription, or a model benchmark. It shows the intended structure; real results depend on speech, transcription, model, and prompt.

The aim is a note you can revisit without losing uncertainty. Do not ask the model to invent missing titles, citations, or conclusions.
Configure optional polishing in Voicen
- In the polishing provider settings, choose a provider you already use, enter your API key, and select a supported model. A custom provider also needs the correct base URL and model ID.
- Enable the provider, review the notice about sending text to a third party, and select it as the current polishing model. Provider fees apply; Voicen does not include AI credits.
- Open the text polishing prompt setting. Keep a copy of your previous prompt, then replace it with the prompt below if it fits your workflow. This setting also affects future notes; restore it before recording unrelated content if needed.
- Record your thoughts in Chinese, stop and save, then compare the organized result with the original transcript and audio.
You can also re-polish an existing note using the current settings. Copy any organized text you want to keep before regenerating it.

This prompt keeps the note in Chinese and separates the reading, your interpretation, your next step, and missing information.

Yes. Default transcription can save your spoken thoughts as text, and you can replay the original audio. Polishing is optional. If you do not want to send text to a third party, keep the original transcript and organize it yourself.
Check the result before keeping it
Verify titles, names, numbers, quotations, and the distinction between the author’s ideas and your own. The original transcript may contain recognition errors, so comparing two versions of the text is not enough. Replay the recording or check the book whenever something is uncertain.
